of legislation as it moves through the
legislative process.
The first several days of the session
have been taken up with legislator education
sessions and organizational matters.
The first hearings on bills began this week
and included several bills we are involved
with.
Senate Bill #106: Requires
certain commercial loan agreements to be
written for enforcement. This bill was
heard in the Senate Business and Labor
Committee on January 9, 2001. There
were no opponents at the hearing. The
bill has been drafted to apply to regulated
lenders and commercial loans in excess of
$100,000. On January 11, 2001 the
Committee approved the bill without
amendment or dissenting vote. The bill
could be on second reading in the full
Senate at the end of the week.
